Waxing
We use Waxperts Wax in our salon. There are two types of wax. Hot wax, used on the face, underarm and bikini. Hot wax is especially suited for sensitive skin. It gives a better finish and a more pain free wax, especially on the bikini area. Strip wax, is used on the legs, back and arms.
Patch test must be done at least 24 hours before waxing.
IPL – Intense Pulse Light
We offer a safe, long term solution to unwanted, excess hair for both men and women.
Treatment is suitable for the face and body, it is quick and results can be seen after just a few sessions.
How does light – assisted hair removal work?
Light is selectively absorbed by melanin, the pigment in the hair follicle. The light energy heats the pigment and effectively destroys s the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding cells.
How is treatment carried out?
The applicator is placed on the skin and a short pulse of light is released, which targets many follicles simultaneously. The applicator is then moved to the next area of skin and the process is repeated until the entire area is treated.
Am I suitable for treatment?
Most people are suitable for treatment. Best results are often achieved with clients who have fair skin and dark hair. Dark hair is more easily treated as it has a high concentration of melanin. Fair hair, however, contains less melanin and is harder to treat. A consultation & Patch Test with your therapist is required at least 48 hours before treatment. Grey/white hair has no melanin so is not suitable for treatment.
Threading
We offer facial threading. You can choose from eyebrows, lip, chin, sides of the face or full face of threading.
Threading is a safe and effective hair removal method that doesn’t require a patch test. Threading uses cotton thread to remove the hair at the root. It is safe for anyone who is using retinol and glycolic or salicylic acids.
Electrolysis
Electrolysis is a permanent hair removal method that uses an electrical current to cut off the blood supply to the hair follicle to permanently stop growth. The current is administered through a needle that fits snuggly into the extra space in the follicle to reach the blood supply. The method of electrolysis that we use in the salon is thermolysis, meaning that you will feel a quick bit of heat in the follicle and then we will remove the hair.
